In 2025, Tecnored joined the Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT), a global initiative that brings together companies committed to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement through actions aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
LeadIT was launched by the governments of Sweden and India at the United Nations Climate Action Summit in September 2019 and is supported by the World Economic Forum. Tecnored is the first Brazilian company to join the group, bringing a unique combination of innovative technologies and practical solutions to the initiative.
Tecnored’s self-reducing furnace technology and cold agglomeration process help reduce emissions by integrating biomass, recycling industrial residues, and utilizing alternative energy sources. The company’s proprietary processes and patents enable the production of green pig iron with a significantly lower carbon footprint than conventional methods.
Beyond technological innovation, Tecnored is committed to collaboration, sharing knowledge and working alongside global partners to advance industrial decarbonization.
The decision to join LeadIT reflects the company’s recognition of the urgency of transitioning to a low-carbon economy and the importance of international cooperation in achieving this goal.
As a company dedicated to developing innovative solutions for the steel industry, Tecnored believes that participation in LeadIT provides an opportunity to actively contribute to shaping the future of sustainable industrial transformation. Through this partnership, the company seeks to share knowledge, leverage collective expertise, and align with global efforts to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors such as steel production.
